We have been running around this small town of ours staying busy and having some fun in the sun. Summer is passing so quickly, can you believe it is almost the 4th of July!?
.....There truly isn't a set of water fountains that we have missed.....
.....Charlotte loves a certain park that has a huge sand area. I like to look at the pics and pretend that we were on the beach somewhere :).....
.....and please know, that I would never, ever, let my children drink the water spraying out of the fountains. That would be unacceptable behavior, and who knows where that water has been -- on second thought, whatever keeps them busy.....
.....playing hard makes the little ones hungry -- and Reese refuses to have to choose between apples & pears, so why not eat both at the same time.....
.....once in a while when we run out of fruit, and even though I believe that no value menu has anything beneficial to offer my girls, I have been known to run through a local fast food joint to pick up some nuggets and ice water -- you know, just to save some time.....
.....although my girls do enjoy a special treat like this once in a while, I refuse to eat fried chicken nuggets and french fries while wearing a swimsuit -- there is something about those 2 parties coming together that seems, well,
counterproductive.
On a totally different note, I'm looking for some new activities for the girls. Stuff we can do at the park, games we can play. Oh, and crafts we can do at home, at the kitchen table. I figure if we keep it at the table at home, it is an easy clean up for a last minute showing :). Anyone have some ideas or activities that your kids love?? I would love to hear about them!
This was kind of a random post, but hey, we lead kind of a random life right now :).
Happy Thursday!

I will be interested in what others have to say, as well. I am always looking for new activities.
btw-- where are you located? I may need you to come to my house or me yours so you can take some pictures for us!-- Great shots, gal.
Wonderful pictures! I can practically feel the heat and cold water...(as we suffer through winter here in Bolivia!)
You have an award waiting on my blog! Have a great day with your beautiful daughters. =)
My 3yo and 1yo love to paint, play playdough or model magic and write letters to family and friends. My 3yo loves to cut a lot too. They love coloring on plain paper as opposed to coloring books. Funny but it keeps them busy!
Good luck finding stuff that works for you. Hey, what kind of camera do you use? I am in the market for a new one and saving up for a really good one but am not too camera savvy to spot exactly what I need.
I LOVE that first photo!
Hi Kate,
Check out this site: www.makeandtakes.com Marie always has some great projects on there to do!
We went to the pool yesterday and waterpark today and I am exhausted, between the heat and keeping up with the kiddos....I need a vacation. :)
Love the pictures! You inspire me yet again. I find myself indoors more often than not, because it just takes so much effort and bravery to handle 3 under 21 mos (and a 6 yr old to boot) out in public. Thanks for challenging and encouraging me!
HI! Just found your blog and wanted to say that I have a daughter named Rayah (we pronounce it RAY-uh)
Your daughters are beautiful!!
Loved the picture in the fountain!
Some activities we love...cheap water paints and card stock after they are done cut into home made cards to write thank you notes on. Black paper and colored chalk (spray w/ hairspray to get to stay). Draw huge flowers on paper, paint on glue, sprinkle with confetti. I could continue, but if you need any more ideas e-mail me!
Oh and this if for my friend Amy, above, e-mail me girl! I can give you some ideas if you need them! :)
Great pics Kate!
Summer time is so much fun. You guys look like you are having a blast.
Your photos make me thirsty...so I'm going to go get some water and an apple! hehe
mine love to play
*with shaving cream...straight onto the table top....takes about two minutes to tidy up.
*a tub of shallow water, with glitter in the bottom & cheap plastic toy sea animals.
*pencils & any sort of paper.
*collect small flowers, seed pods, leaves, tiny pebbles, feathers...anything on a walk around the block...then use a large{ish} square of clear contact {I have no idea if that's what it's called in the USA. You place everything on the sticky side of the contact use another piece the same size to cover it all...place it up against a window and it's like a nature collage that is a twist on stained glass. This does not take long and they love it!!
*decorate plain old cookies with icing and sprinkles.
*I have loads of boys.... they love a good train track/car track/ little plastic farm animals/dinosaurs etc
*a cubby house made from sofa cushions +blankets...throw in some dollies
I don't think I can recall anything else off the top of my head...this is a great idea to share these little tricks at how to occupy small minds and hands.....
LOVE your pictures! ALL girls-what a blessing-2 sets of twins! Even more of a blessing! That ROCKS!
love the pictures and hey, it really does look like you're at the beach ;)
chicken nuggets and swim suit LOL definitely don't go together!
What a beautiful blog! What a lovely houseful of girls! Activities? For girls? I'm not much help there! However, Art Projects are always great. Create a group poem where each one provides a line--even baby talk lines. Or write a group story. They talk; you write. Let them draw pictures while you take pictures. Have a blessed day:)
