Nothing like an eventful day.
Our very curious Lincoln took a fall today...into the side of an end table...and had a nasty gash in his mouth as a result. No fun!
The kid is into everything. I mean, everything.
I have to be honest. When I picked him up and tried to make sense of all the bleeding that was going on I thought, "yep, he's definitely a boy, this is probably the first of many!".
But he did did pretty good at the doctor, and they ended up not stitching it since it was on the inside of his mouth (praise the Lord!). He just can't have any hard table food for a few days so it doesn't re-open.
Him and his chubby cheeks were worn out from all the excitement...
Seriously, look at those cheeks. It's like he's storing food in there!
You have my permission to reach in there and give 'em a squeeze. You know you want to.
Took that pic with my phone. I hate that he got hurt, but I could sit and hold him like that for a reeeeaaaallly long time :).
Anywho, that's what we were up to today!
Boys will be boys, right?

Having 6 boys and 6 girls ... gender hasn't made a difference at all, in our injuries.
1 broken arm - girl
1 broken leg - girl
1 broken nose - boy
3 sets of stitches - 1 girl & 2 boys
Actually, our injury rate is quite low for a dozen children, don't you think? But, it appears that our girls have out-injured our boys so far. :)
Keep snuggling that little guy.
:) :) :)
Totally! Our son has had SO many more injuries than our daughter has had. Boys!
Ahh, he's so cute cuddling you!
So far we've been lucky. 2 boys, no major injury. I have calm ones though! I'm sure in time things will change :)
Oh no! Poor Lincoln. I know exactly what you're talking about though...my baby boy is into everything too...he gets hurt so much more than all of my girls did. :-(
Precious picture! :-)
We just had our first stitches of 7 1/2 years a few weeks ago. Our Lincoln... :) Hope your Linc is feeling well today!!
Lets see....no professional 2 year old pictures for my twin boys b/c one bit the other on the face (yep bit) and I was 36 weeks pregnant with my single boy so well no pictures. The day before I needed to take a Christmas card picture of my 4 one of my boys took a nose dive onto the sidewalk and scuffed his nose and face...the picture was taken and sent, and a copy of it hangs in my kitchen. It seemed like with all 3 of my boys they had constant bruises on their foreheads once they started to walk until around 2 1/2 and sometimes more then one in different and rainbow colors.
Nothing stitched or broken (yet they are only 8,8,6 and 3) unless you count the window that was broken when a Nerf gun was thrown at a brother and he ducked.
Before you think mine aren't normal crazy boys....we did have a head injury when one tried to parachute off his bed and hit the dresser. No one told us and I found him post seizure when he looked like he had had a stroke! VERY scary night....but that was 18 months ago!
I say all of the time that my 3 year old daughter is a brand new parenting experience for us! And the same holds true for you I am sure! Enjoy each battle wound once they are safe....and even some you will laugh about later.....much later!
haha I hate to tell you this but I'm an only child (girl-duh) and I had not one, not two, but THREE broken arms and several sets of stitches! I was a *little bit* of a tomboy ;)
I'm glad Lincoln's feeling better! And I agree, snuggles are THE BEST!
Oh ... I told you about my kids, but not about MY life as a girl (compared to my brothers).
I don't believe that either of my brothers ever had a broken bone, stitches, or any type of injury that even got the a doctor's visit.
I, however, a total tomboy ...
... had 3 broken arms
... had 1 broken leg
... had more broken fingers than I can count
... had serious knee injuries several times
... had a concussion
... had an appendectomy
Yes. I was definitely the accident-prone one of our family ... I guess my girls take after their mama.
:) :) :)
Poor little guy! Kinda scary before you figure out how severe the injury is. Glad he didn't need stitches!
Yes. They will. Lucas busted his mouth BIG TIME on Friday and had to get multiple stitches inside and out of his mouth by and oral surgeon. My Momma heart was seriously hurting.
I'm pretty sure dealing w/ him on Friday helped put me into labor on Monday and I'm TOTALLY okay with that. ;) Well, the labor not the injury.
He's a sweetie!
