It's no wonder I can't get a lot of cooking done around here, is it!?What do you do with all the shoes in your house? I'm thinking I need a new "shoe system." A place where they are easily found, organized, and out of the way...
Preferably not wedged in the handle of my oven.
Any suggestions?
That is too cute!:) We have a big wicker basket at the front door that holds two pair a piece for our family of four. Hmmm I think you might need 2 baskets. :P

ReplyDeleteThey mount on to the wall; we have two sets, so 6 of them... they can stack on top of each other; we have three rows of two... and they are wonderful!
Oh I love it! We have a shoe rack on the back of our "mud room" door that all the girls shoes go in. I dunno if that will hold all your girls' shoes though *grin*

ReplyDeleteSheila has a shoe bin labeled for each boy, and when they come in the house, they are supposed to put them in their respective bins. They don't always do it, but it definitely helps when trying to find shoes. Maybe you could put some in the garage, right outside the door to the house. Just a thought...
I have two plastic things with 3 drawers in each (so 6 drawers). They are in our laundry room...where we leave coats, etc. The drawers aren't real big which I like b.c then it forces me to limit the number of shoes they have =)

I love Amy's suggestion...I look at those everytime I am at Ikea! =) I just haven't had the money to spend on those, so did the cheaper route =)

But the same idea can be achieved by mounting two boards of wood to the wall so the toes rest in the space between them. Could be painted and decorated really cute too!
Love the oven rack though....just sayin'. :)

We have the same problem with shoes... they are always underfoot (hehe) in the kitchen. We have 1 of the Closet Maid double shelves in the back porch that we use but it's definitely NOT enough room for everybody's shoes. Not sure what the best solution would be yet... good luck with all those little shoes!! ;-D

ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed catching up on your blog today! I love your daughter's curls, too, and I'm also experimenting with a responsibility/reward chart. It lost it's initial appeal, so now we're removing furniture piece by piece from their room. Oh, the joys of parenting! ;)
We have a 4 1/2' long x 1 1/2' wide wood bench with hinged top that my parents gave us for Christmas one year that sits in our entry. It looks nice, but is full of all our shoes that we wear regularly on the inside! :) Works like a charm...
