So...

We're having a boy! I am so thankful for all your sweet words - you do know that most of you will have to help me out with this boy thing, right? You're ok with that? Good.

I knew I could count on you.

Let's just wait on the whole "he's going to pee on you every time you change his diaper" talk, ok? You can spring that on me later on down the road.

Considering we don't even have a neutral crib sheet in the house, I'm going to be on the hunt for some good deals...in blue :). I can't help but smile when I say that.

I also couldn't stop thinking of an old commercial yesterday. One of my best friends that I roomed with before I got married used to think it was SO funny, so I thought I'd share...

Yep, still funny.

So, I'm off to pack all the girls in the car for preschool, and some morning errands. Well, I guess it's not all girls anymore - because I have a little guy in my belly!

That cracks me up for some reason, I laugh every time I say it! It just seems so surreal, and completely out of our savvy little world :).

And speaking of savvy, I need a subtitle to the ole blog don't ya think? So everyone put your thinking caps on, I can use all the suggestions I can get!

Happy Wednesday!

  1. I was thinking... "...and one ____ little boy." and I put in, "rowdy" then "destructive" (you know, what MY boys are) but you don't know what your little guy will be like so that wouldn't work until later.

"... and a little boy with 6 moms!" LOL I bet they are so excited! Congrats again!

  2. Congratulations on your little man!! I have to admit that I've only just found your blog in the last few weeks after you left a comment over at 4 Little Men and Girly Twins, but it is the one that I can't wait to check every morning. You have a beautiful family, and I so appreciate your realness and Christian outlook on life and your family. It's very refreshing!

How about Savvy Little Women and a Handy Man? Eh?

God bless you and your family :)

  10. Kate I am so happy for you. I still am in shock as I am sure you are. I am not good at coming up with titles. Congrats again. I will help with boy stuff, but btw neither of the boys peed one me so far. I got lucky.

  11. Well, if it were my blog (I have three girls and then one boy at the end - SO fun!) I would put "...and 1 lady's man" because my little guy knew how to work a room even before he was 1! He is going to be WAY too good at understanding, predicting, and dealing with girls!!

  18. Kate, I think you've almost gotta wait to see what he's like. He might be 'sweet'..... but he could be like a really 'big' baby... or he might be really loud or I don't know... but you need that particular adjective and because you don't know him yet, you may need to wait.

What's the male word over in the US for savvy?? Savvy is not a word we use here much, 'sassy' either.

    Can't wait...... xx

  19. Yea for BOYS! As the Mama of 6 Boys, I welcome you to the club. :)

He will bring balance to your household, when it is overflowing with teenage hormonal girls (we had 5 teen girls living at our house one year ... I know what you are in for).

He will be SPOILED, not only by all of the big sisters, but his Daddy will be pretty happy to have a SON, as well. (I know he would have loved another daughter, too, but the father/son relationship is pretty special ... as is the mother/son).

He may like to scare all of those big sisters with snakes and spiders, but he may just turn a few of them into tomboys, too.

He will bring BLUE to your decorating schemes, to balance all of the pinks and frilly bows.

He will bring farts and burps. (sorry if this is too graphic, but your life is about to become MUCH more graphically oriented)

He will teach you all how to make toy guns out of ANYTHING.

Yes ... your lives will be BLESSED by this little guy. Just wait. You'll see.

    :) :) :)
