We're Out In The Country...

But we are moving soon...

The renovations are coming to an end, and the painting has started...

All my color choices have come easy. That is, all but one.

The Kitchen.

It should be bold and bright, shouldn't it?!

What do you think? What color is your kitchen?

  3. Yellow! I love the happy yellow walls in my kitchen. If you are like me you spend a huge chunk of your day preparing food, serving food and cleaning up after food. I figure if I'm in a room that much, it should make me happy!!

  4. yellow. love yellow. my window treatments and other accents are red and blue. kinda french country meets southern hospitality. ;-) i love it. just wish i had different cabinets. we kept the builder-grade...keep thinking about painting them or something to jazz them up.

They seem a little darker in real life than in the picture.

  8. My kitchen has 5 colors in it. 1 wall of light purple (extended from the dining room), 2 walls of light mint green (under the cupboards), and 2 walls of medium mint green (above the cupboards).

I actually posted pics of the interior of my house, just today. Hope you'll visit to see all of the fun colors that we like.

Yes ... bright and cheery is good for the kitchen.

    Laurel :)

  11. Ours is tan, blah. :) But, we can't change it and have fun printed curtains, so I'm okay with it... The old house was a lighter yellow. I'm not sure what I'd pick out of anything...

How fun! Can't wait until you're in your new home!! :)

  12. you Americans are so colourful... we even spell colour differently here ;)

mine is WHITE. White walls, white cupboards, white marble {that is Calacutta Gold.... so it has gorgeous water marks throughout} and stainless steel appliances. I have wooden rafters on a raked ceiling so there is wood in their too... plus my very dark wooden floorboards.

I DO however make a feature with a giant round fish bowl on the sink with goldfish galore in it & really whacky coloured glass objects from Murano, near Venice in Italy.

I should have just done some photos :):)

It's very serene and we NEED serene. Well I do, that and easy to clean.

  16. In the past I had a Mint green kitchen and right now our kitchen is 3 shades of beige (blah) but we are preparing to rip that kitchen out and put in a new one and that will be... white with mocha granite. I have learnt that I like neutral colours and white cupboards and I get my colour fix with vases or pictures (I also have a very short attention span that gets sick of a strong coloured feature wall in about 3 months... this doesn't make for a happy marriage if the Husband has to keep painting over feature walls!).
