More Sleep Needed

Well, the babe and I are in Nashville, we got in really late last night...and I didn't sleep at all. So this morning I'm in my-eyes-are-burning and I-really-really-miss-my-kids mode.

Remember how I cry when I'm tired? Well I've done that already, when I talked to the girls this morning.

And again when I talked to my mom.

And then again when I found out they were serving strawberry cream cheese coffee cake for breakfast. You understand.

I think I have some pregnancy induced anxiety going on here. I'm a tad more on edge than I am when I'm not growing a baby boy in my belly.

That anxiety made leaving the girls for a few days a little hard. One minute I'm planning meals for Eric for the next 3 days, and the next thing I know I've got my panties in a bunch over the fact that it could snow this Thursday.

You know, I worry about things I can control, like the weather. Sheesh.

(and for the record I hate the word panties, it just seemed to fit.)

Anxiety. It's no good.

It's comforting to know that God is very clear about not being anxious - "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Isn't that so reassuring?

So this recent onset of anxiety must be from the pregnancy, at least that's what I'm going to blame it on. This little man is really turning my hormones upside down! He's obviously very busy in there, I can feel his little feet under my ribs right now.

I have over a million kisses reserved for those toes :).

I just read Isaiah 26:3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Praying you'll have peace during the rest of your time away--sleep and fun too!

So sorry you didn't sleep well and are feeling the exhaustion and emotion today....emotions are always crazy when you add in lack of sleep. LOVE that verse....Lane and I were just talking through that same verse this morning for some anxiety stuff she is working through. Such a reassuring truth to know He gives us "peace BEYOND our understanding" when we commit our thoughts to Him. Hang in there.....praying His peace for you.

When I first read "panties," I was like: "Did Kate just say panties?!" It seemed so weird coming from you. Then, when I read the part about you not liking that word, I was cracking up! :)

Glad that you were able to get better sleep last night! Life seems so much better when you're well-rested!

Enjoy the rest of your trip!
