This Is My Space, And This Is Your Space

Have I ever mentioned that Raya loovves to be close to people (especially me)? Well, she does. That child would sit on my lap the whole day if I would let her...

And sometimes I do.

But Kinley on the other hand - well, she likes her space...

And she ain't afraid to tell you...

because apparently Kinley Girl has boundaries, and she doesn't like when they are crossed...
I'm not sure if that is a "cute and innocent" look, or a "full of attitude - get out of my space" look...

And honestly, I'm not sure if I want to know...yet.

Just let me think its a cute look, ok? :)

Just have to ask ... which one is the oldest? The one with boundaries and a need for her own space.

Gotta tell you a fun twin memory ...

My identical girls (now 21) were 16 months old. Carissa (7 minutes older) was very much the boss of the team. Lindsey, at 16 months, decided that she just wasn't going to take it any more.

The girls were playing behind some long heavy drapes at the sliding glass door. All of a sudden it sounded like a cat fight behind the drapes. Those 2 were going at it. The curtains opened. Lindsey stepped out with the biggest grin. Carissa came whimpering out from behind the curtain with the biggest bite mark on her cheek. You could count the teeth marks clearly for a few days. Lindsey was NOT going to be treated like the "youngest" any more.

That was really the only biting incident I remember with any of our dozen children ... but that was one funny memory. Lindsey wanted to tell Carissa that Carissa was no longer in charge.

Ok, that "back off" face is adorable! I can't imagine why she would want her own space when she has 4 sisters :)

(I'm an only child, so I would have LOVED having 4 sisters!)

Now that is some serious cuteness!! Those pictures must be framed immediately! They actually remind me of those ones you have of Reese and Char outside the front door of your old house. Those are some of my all-time favorite pics, too.

And, by the way, if anyone doesn't believe you about Raya wanting to be with you every second, I can definitely confirm that it's the truth! That girl is obsessed...
