Happy 4th!

Oh I love the 4th of July. Especially when it comes with a loonng weekend, when hubby can be home a bit more, and we can cook out together. Have I ever mentioned I LOVE cooking out?

(well, when he cooks out, I technically haven't mastered the grill yet.)

(it's on my to - do list.)

Anyway, the point is, I love it!

The girls are SO excited for the parade, it's by far their favorite part of the weekend. You might remember how excited they were last year...

What a sweet little thing.

We are going to work around the house, visit family, and make some festive treats. I will post pics of what we make a little later.

Anyone have big plans for the weekend? You taking the kiddos to fireworks??

Hope you have a great 4th of July!

We are going to a neighborhood party at our friends house. Since they live 2 roads over from ours. We'll be BBQing, swimming, enjoying potluck food and having fireworks in the road. ( We live on dirt roads) It's going to be a good time! I am making my grandmother's potato salad, jello jigglers and taco dip for the festivities!
Looking forward to seeing your pics of your food!

We are staying home, and throwing a party for ourselves with streamers, sparklers, pinata, yummy snacks, etc. We're hoping that if we walk to the top of the hill in our neighborhood tonight, we can see the fireworks around! :) Have a blessed 4th!!

It was so rainy here, that all the area fireworks displays were canceled! We enjoyed watching the brave (or rebellious) people who drove across the border into Missouri to buy fireworks fire them off illegally. ;) The cool news is that all the area city displays have been rescheduled on different nights--I think we'll be enjoying fireworks the rest of the month!
