She Got Her Hair Cut At Hobby Lobby

It's time to start painting the house. That is, fantastic news. We are hoping to move in in about 2 weeks. I still can't believe it.

Anyway. So the other day I headed out to Hobby Lobby to pick up some new frames for the new (to us) house...

...and some wall art

...and some paint

...and some canvas's for a project.

I never walk out with only what I walked in for. It's like the Craft Store version of Target. Too many deals to pass up.

The girls and I picked out our stuff, 2 people ask if they're "all mine", and we head to the checkout. I let the girls look at all the gadgets, they are most intrigued by this thing called a "Fan Man." They fan each other, I check out the deals in this weeks ad, and Ella pretends to dry her hair.

Just for future reference - don't ever, ever, hold a fan close to your hair.

Bad things happen.

Next thing I know, a big chunk of Ella's hair is wrapped around the fan, and completely caught, I couldn't get it to budge one bit. I tried to pull as much as she would let me without causing a scene, but no luck.

So I did what I had to do...

Excuse me, ma'am, do you have scissors I could use?

I had to cut it out of her hair. In lane 5. At Hobby Lobby.

So above is the new toy I kinda had to buy this weekend. I couldn't even get all the hair out after it was all done!

Alright, Fan Man, you have proved your point. We will not doubt your strength again. Promise.

Please tell me someone else has had to cut something out of a child's hair :)...

oh my word! That will be HILARIOUS in the years to come. Maybe just not now :)

oh and I get asked ALL THE TIME if they're "all mine." Really? Because I'm going to bring extra small children to the store with me??

I've never been to a Hobby Lobby, but we have one just down from Super Target here now... Hmmm, should I risk the addiction?? I am kind of jonesing for a sewing machine, so I can learn to sew... :)

LOL - I can just see the chaos taking place. I'll be sure to learn from your kiddos and keep mine away from The Fan Man when we frequent Hobby Lobby

Oh no! I kind of laughed reading this not about her hair getting cut but her ending up "cutting" her hair again! I remember when she first cut her hair and she ended up with a bob! It was so cute though. :)

I agree with Hobby Lobby being like Target...I love that place too!

aww poor Ella! When I was little I cut my friends hair and it didnt turn out the best...my mom punished me by making me tell the girls mom what I did...
on another blog I have followed previously the twin girls cut eachothers hair and their mom had to take them to get their hair cut super short to hide the mess up.
Happy painting!

I haven't had to cut anything out of a child's hair, yet (she's only 4 months old) but it almost had to happen to me! I ended up with my bangs wrapped up in a drill. The whole thing had to be taken apart to get my hair out - but luckily no haircut for me. I just had too buy my dad a new drill!

Let me see... Chewing gum, bubble gum, assorted lollies, one of the beaters from the cake mixer (I'm not making this list up) and a crayon! At the moment its knots and hair bands. Maybe Lulu and I are a bit too snip happy as instead of brushing out big knots she says to me "Mum here are the scissors just cut it out".
PS you get extra points for taking a pic of the hair IN the fan.

Hysterical!!! I'm sure it wasn't that funny to Ella though!
Hmmm...nothing in my little ones hair... yet.
I've got mine stuck in one of those tiny round brushes as a kid because I wound it up to my head like a curling iron. It wasn't pretty...better than when I stuck a green crayon up my nose. My family still hasn't let me live that one down.

I LOVE Hobby Lobby!! We have three around our city and I hit each one as often as possible.
Before becoming a SAHM I was a nanny to 3 families with 10 kids total. Let me tell you LOTS of hair got chopped.

Oh no!! Poor Ella. Would it make you feel better if I told you that my lil' Gracie cut 1/2 of one of her ponytails off at a friends house? Oi.

Canvass project... Sounds like our kind of fun!

So true about Hobby Lobby. It doesn't help when you have one practically in your back yard. :)

I cut a Zhu Zhu pet out of Olivia's hair. Even ATER the packaging stated, "Do not place Zhu Zhu near hair." And my thoughts were, "What dummy would put a moving Zhu Zhu near their hair?" Ummmm.. a 4 year old dummy, that's who!

PRICELESS! See, this is exactly why blogging is so awesome - I bet if you hadn't had all us sympathetic (and chuckling) moms to tell this story to, you might not have seen the humor in the situation. ;) But it IS a great story, and I'm so glad you shared! By the way, I 2nd the Zhu Zhu Pet danger - I even made sure to post that when I reviewed the products. (those hamsters can be mischievous!)

My kids did the same thing with a little car that was electronic. The hair got caught in the wheels. I'm not sure why they thought it would be a good idea to stick an electronic car on their heads...
