Fillin' Some Baskets

Our Spring Break is coming to a close...

We have run around a ton, played at parks, and enjoyed this amazing weather...

We have just been hanging out together, my ladies and I...

So we're off today to run some errands, get some groceries, and stock on some Easter goodies...

I have no idea what is going in the Easter Baskets (not that it's going to be a lot). I want to give them something other than a lot of candy - we have enough of that! Flip Flops, sunglasses, books? Oh, I'm a little behind :).

What do you put in your baskets (if you do them)? Do you do an Egg Hunt? I would love some fun ideas!

I haven't bought anything yet, other than a few books that I've had for a long time. I usually do some candy (not too much!), books, play-doh, small toys like cars/trucks or Barbie outfit, small snack packs, and binkies if I have a baby! :)

No easter baskets at our house ... or easter egg hunts ... or pretty new dresses. (Our girls from Ghana don't even know that that is part of the Easter celebration in America.)

We do our best to keep the focus on the scriptural meaning of this Holy-Day (holiday).

We will attend our church's Pancake Breakfast before service. I'm looking forward to the time of fellowship.

Our church will be meeting in our new facility for the 1st time, as we've outgrown the old facility. Yea! Looking forward to welcoming visitors to our new facility.

We will enjoy a special dinner with family and friends that are coming to visit from the mainland.

We will read the scriptures together, of Christ's Resurrection.

No judgement here, about the baskets and eggs ... just sharing what we do or do not do.

Enjoy your Easter baskets.

I got my kids some new spring clothes (shorts and two t-shirts) and I'm lining the baskets with them in lieu of grass. They each get a chocolate bunny, sidewalk chalk, and a few fun things from the dollar spot at Target. Not too much candy since we'll be filling eggs for a backyard egg hunt. Oh, they're each getting flip flops and sunglasses too. I debated about beach towels, swimsuits, etc. I've done that in the past - but not everyone needed a new swimsuit this year.
Hope you have a great weekend! Happy Easter!

We've done an egg hunt before, but this year I just didn't get around to it, which works well for me since Lydia has the flu. For their baskets I decided to cut way back on sweets. Each basket will have some jelly beans, a new outfit and a "bigger" toy. Lydia is getting a doll stroller and Lucas is getting a DVD.

Hope you have a great Easter!
