The Worst Display Ever

Target,

I don't want this to come between us.

You know you're my favorite.

But this is an incredibly tempting display. Not to mention a pain in my side every time we stop by.

You must know that in 30 seconds my 3 yr olds can go from normal preschoolers, to destruction master minds. It's a gift.

I don't understand how someone who can't tie their own shoes, can unhinge a metal display. I can't spend anymore time trying to figure that out.

This contraption says 3 things:

1. children, pull ball from cage - scream till one is in cart.
2. the more you pull out, the more fun you will have. Take out as many as you can, and do it while she's not looking.
3. charge parents $5 for something that cost .05 cents to make.

I took my eyes off them for like 5 seconds, I don't even know how one (or two) can pull that many bouncy balls from the display in such a short time.

Now I have to go fetch the ones that rolled all the way back to your automotive section.

Target, get rid of this. Please. For me. For all mom's.

Stop making mothers stand here and explain why they can't buy another one...since they have like 100 at home.

This display is your decision...

Not mine.

Next time, I'm not going pick them all up. You might end up with 50 giant bouncy balls in your electronics department - sometimes, you just have to learn the hard way.

Target, you know I love you, we just need to work through this.

Sincerely,

Kate

This made me literally laugh out loud. We were just at Target yesterday and struggled with this display as well!!! However, ours were on sale for $2 which I thought odd so I went ahead and got the girls one. They fought over the ball the rest of the time in the store. Maybe I should have gotten two but oh well. They are now fighting over it inside....*sigh* So I may have to go and see if they are still only $2 and get another one. I can not believe how much they charge either! Too funny about your girls pulling them out. Thankfully mine are still too young for that.

Read this blog post from Vicki Courtney and Target just might leave a bad taste in your mouth. It did mine. I wrote to both Target and Toys r us about this. Target actually called me. Both replied to my email. Know dont get me wrong. I grew up loving the basic and true blonde of this time tested toy but product placement should have been planned differently for this "collector's" version.

After the call, I'll still be a Target Fan.

haha! I agree! They really shouldn't put something out there like that unless they want to clean it up after everybodys kids make a mess!

Totally agree! They are one of the cheapest most ingenious toys.....but they still cost WAY more than they're worth! :) Fortunately we're still in the stage of point and say 'ball!'

Those ball displays are like a magnet for my kids too. They even have them near the checkout registers of our Kroger. NOT GOOD!!!

LOve, love, love this post, I was laughing out loud just picturing you running through the store finding the balls, you were probably entertaining many behind the store cameras, but I like your idea of letting the balls go..:)

I was in Target the other day and totally thought about your blog as I walked past the ball display. I just imagined balls going everywhere and you saying "oh well, they shouldn't have had it there!" :) It made me smile!

I agree. Let the balls roam free! Sometimes you DO have to teach them a lesson. LOL
