We Are All In Detox

Deep breath in...
Being in the bathroom alone was a privledge, and gift...
Exhale out...
It is not normal for a mother to shower...everyday...without banging on the door.
Alright, I think I'm coming back to reality.

I am attempting to get back in the swing of things after an amazing weekend at Blissdom. I'm trying to put the bag of Hershey Bliss Chocolates down - I fell in love w/ them in Nashville. Have you tried these things??

They were just a little treat in the beginning - now they're more like a hobby.

Ahem, but that's a whole other post.

It's true, I had an amazing time. I learned more about my passion for writing, thought a ton about how much I loovve this community that I have found through blogging, had some much needed "girl time", and met some fabulous women - like my editor from Blissfully Domestic. Here we are at the "Come Comfy" Party at the end of the conference...

I know, I need help.

You give me a little time off, a party where you can wear pj's, and this is how I behave. Don't judge.

The girls are also going through a little "we get everything we want when the grandparents are around" detox. You know that stage, right? This is what my Raya has done since I got home...

Sweet, isn't it? I am soaking up all the extra cuddles that are being offered out. I don't think she has let me out of her sight since I walked back through the door :).

Oh, and sorry for the craziness around here the past few days, I know it was hard to load my blog. I was told "some lines got crossed." Whatever that means.

So anyway, I'm curious. What is your favorite part about blogging? What keeps you in this amazing, encouraging, hilarious community?? Do tell!

My favorite part of blogging is the huge variety of blogs to read...whether it be about interior design, someone walking through a hard time in life, or just someone who "keeps it real" about motherhood.

What keeps me in it is a desire for my daughter to have something physical to hold onto long after I am gone...whether it is advice or just words to let her know how much she has meant to me.

Hey Kate...looks like you had lots of fun in Nashville. That's nice that you could get away for the weekend. But seriously, what are you doing up at 4am???

Or maybe the time is wrong on here...

For me, it's all about the expression. I can share a lot or a little, serious or silly, photos or not....and not matter what it is, it is from me. People can comment or not, I can read them or not.

It's a form of journaling and I have loved it!!

And I have loved being a part of your journey :)

Good luck in the detox period... it's always tough for us to readjust after even just an afternoon w/ grandparents, much less a few days! :)

p.s. my favorite thing about blogging it being reminded that I am not alone on this journey of motherhood.

I love the friendships that I've made. I love getting comments from others. I love knowing that my bloggy friends are thinking of me and praying for me. And ... I LOVE to give encouragement to others (especially all of you young mamas with lots of kids). I have a passion to be a mentor to young moms, that so often feel like "nobody understands".

I also use my blog as our family's daily journal. With Big Kids that live all over the world, it is a way for them read about (and see pictures of) our daily life at home. It's been a great way to keep everyone feeling connected. (And, after Mama started my blog ... 5 of my Big Kids started their own blog.)

I truly Love writing! And then add to that all the great friendships I have made...I can't believe I ever survived without blogging! :)

Hershey's Bliss chocolates -- YES! They are a close second to my all time favorite, Dove.

My favorite thing about blogging is the connections made with other moms. Sometimes it's just nice to know that you're not the only one struggling with _________ (fill in the blank).

And I have to add, I've learned a TON since I started blogging and gotten so many creative ideas from other people!

Glad you had such a great time..
I love blogging b/c it is just so fun to be creative and capture moments in time that would otherwise simply be forgotten...and having the privilege to get a glimpse into other moms lives rocks as well!

I love how blogging connects me to other people. I have an open forum to release some of what's been jumbling up my head and I get to see what fills others brains. It's a chance to learn and grow. It can be as deep or as superficial as I need it to be that day. It gives me a chance to create without making myself another mess to clean up. ;-p

Eating chocolate as a hobby? Can we be best friends?!

And THAT'S my favorite part about the blogging community...making friends. Because I love to write and I love having this record of our lives, but without an ear (or a hundred ears) listening, I might just bottle it all up and forget about it.

I love me some blogs :)

Kate...you always do this to me! Now I want CHOCOLATE!!!!!
Ah blogging...where to begin? Aside from the memories it banks, it truly is the community...belonging to the lives of other women who you respect and resonate with. It's a pretty awesome thing to share a connection with someone you've never met, never done anything for and yet they cheer you on...just because you're you!!!

Oh, my favorite part -hands down- is the community I stumbled upon when I set up my blog. Who knew? Out there was a circle of friends, mothers going through exactly what I am who could empathize, encourage, and make me laugh. I love it!

Did you say a shower with no interruptions? I will not be jealous, I will not be jealous, I will not be jealous... :D

Most definitely my favorite part of blogging has been meeting the people behind the blogs. I have friends that would have never had had it not been for this crazy phenomenon of people sharing their lives with each other on the Internet (of all places!)

Great to meet you this past weekend. Isn't Monica just the best thing ever?? And the chocolate? Be still my heart (um, yeah, not literally please!)
