I'm Kickin' Stress Out The Door

It is really cold outside...

We are getting all kinds of beautiful snow...

And the girls have a snow day.

A lazy, stay in your pj's, get the crockpots out, play lots of rounds of Old Maid, snow day....it's a beautiful thing isn't it??

I love crockpots. Possibly the most practical kitchen appliance for the busy mom, don't ya think?

So we had a nice relaxing day here, just me and my little ladies.

And yes, I took my self imposed stress level down a much needed notch...and I didn't yell...as much :). Oh, this motherhood thing is a process isn't it? If I'm not being hard on them, I'm being hard on myself...

Geez, relax. Let's take this one sweet day at a time.

If I don't relax and de-stress, I'm going to end up in a therapy session somewhere talking about my childhood and how my yelling is somehow related to a bad perm I had in the 6th grade. Ahem...

So one of my goals is to be more patient and less stressed - they deserve that from me. And after all, this time is fleeting...I'm done wasting my time being stressed about things that don't matter near as much as my girls happiness. They're little, they're sweet, and they are truly a gift.

Well those are my random thoughts for now...

Thankyouandgoodnight.

Before you call a therapist ... give me a call. I've probably "been there, done that" with most everything that is stressing you out. :) I'm cheaper than a therapist, too.

And the crockpot ... oh yea! Why didn't I have one when I had 6 kids under 7 ??? I LOVE my 7 quart crockpot. Just used it today for Rigatoni Pizza. Yummm!!!

mama of many :)

We had a lazy day yesterday too! Picnic and pj's. The snow is beautiful... perfect for getting cozy and spending "quiet" moments together! Glad you had a less stressful day!

Mm... Snow outside and a crockpot simmering in the kitchen! Love it! Way to reclaim a positive attitude; it makes all the difference :) Enjoy your cute little girlies and have a great weekend!

When you figure out how to de-stress, can you tell me? I'm trying!

And I'm not sure I could function without my crockpot. I love it :)

sounds like a GREAT day... just remember you're not alone in this! So glad to be on this mothering journey alongside you... even if from a distance. :)

Love your blog!
I only have a 20 month old and I've definitely have been known to lose my cool A LOT!

I exaggerate.
It's only like twice a day!! LOL! (Insert sarcasm here)

I can only imagine with several little ones that you probably spend your WHOLE day praying "Lord, please don't let me scream, please don't let me scream, please don't let me scream!"

Just reminds me how I am continually reliant on God's grace and the cross!
Hugs to you...I'm sure you are a SUPER mom!!

Oh Kate, you made smile, you made me sad, you made me optimistic! We only have 'one' crock pot, it's too big for us all and I stress and yell too. I have so very much less than you, I ought to be more patient, more loving but I'm not because I'm not perfect and there is 1 such character that delights at making me remember. I will try more and pray more & remember you as I pray. Lots of Gods love coming your way today. Donna G
