Well That Backfired

Saying that I love my "pajamas" is a total understatement. I often refer to them as "lounge pants & my favorite sweatshirt." It sounds better.

Why would I need to make it sound better? Why would I need to justify these clothes? Because I change into them everytime we return home. Give me my black yoga pants and my old high school sweatshirt, and I am one happy lady. Call it crazy, call it insane, call it whatever.

I like to call it, wonderful.

I admit (because the truth will set you free), that there have been times when I have to think for a few minutes, "what are the chances of running into someone at Kroger in my flannel pajama pants...and how much would I care at this point??"

In the land of spitup, babyfood making, diaper changing, applesauce dodging, kid chasing, and floor scrubbing (you know, if I actually scrubbed my floors) - Lounge clothes (you see how I use that term, sounds better, huh?) are just practical. It is a running joke in the house to see how long it will take for me to change clothes after we walk through the door.

Roughly 30 seconds on a slow day.

Anyway, I didn't think much of it until this situation surfaced:

Oh yea, that is Charlotte...in her nightgown...at lunchtime.
She has also picked out her most comfortable clothing item, and hops into it as soon as we get home. Is that bad? Or can we just chalk it up to getting a head start on bedtime?

I don't think this a battle I want to fight, and I truly have bigger fish to fry (not literally, I actually don't eat fish).

So what do you think? Let her be comfortable or make her stay in her "daytime clothes?"

Please say let her be comfortable...I don't want to have to give up mine either!!!

It's Time, Baby.

Or should I say, "It's time, little girl."

I knew it was coming. I knew you were ready. And I knew that that you were excited.

What I didn't know, was that I would see 5 years flash right before my eyes as I watched you walk into your classroom in your little uniform and amazingly cute button knee highs.

Wasn't it just yesterday that God gave you to us?
And wasn't it just a minute ago when you were standing at your 1st birthday party doing animal sounds for everyone?

My mothers voice saying: "before you know it, she'll be starting School...", rings so loud in my ears today.

But as I've said, You can't fence time, and Kindergarten is calling. We asked God for direction, and believe He showed us an amazing school for our family.

You are indeed ready, my smart, savvy little girl. Have fun, learn a lot, and stop growing so stinkin' fast :).

I love you, my sweet Ella Girl.

If you need me - I'll be in the car, trying to pull myself together :).

It's Time, Baby.

You Can't Fence Time

While the older girls are bored with our current day to day routine, and climbing the walls looking for some entertainment...

And I mean that literally...

These little ladies turned 9 months...

Sweet, happy baby girls...

That bring so much joy to our growing family...
Are going to be 1 in just 3 months!!! Time is flying by...

Passin' The Junk

Is the weekend already over!? We have had 5 sweet girls a little under the weather the past few days. That's right - in the past week, all of our ladies have had a temperature at some point.

They just keep passing the junk around.

So I spent a good amount of time this weekend lovin' on some sick little ones, and getting a lot of snugglin' in :). The older girls got it first, while they babes carried on like normal...

And then, my little loves got it...

Isn't she scrumptious even when she's screaming!? Not that I'm partial.

So tomorrow morning I am hoping that I have 5 healthy, happy little girls ready to face the day, and enjoy our last week of summer. I know I'm ready to get back to our normal routine!

Now excuse me while I go disinfect my house...
Or maybe I'll go to bed...
Yep, I'm going to bed.

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Sweet Sitting Sisters

I can't get enough of this picture - I had to share real quick.

That look on Raya's face says something like, "Are you seriously touching me again?? I love ya, but could you give me a little space?!"

Hope you all are having a good Friday!

Destination Unknown

Oh the last weeks of summer. A lot of our summer activities have wrapped up, and the girls are a little tired of our regular spots. So lately, I have been packing them in the car and heading out w/ no definite destination in mind.

Crazy? Maybe.

But it's been fun! It gets us all out of the house, gets us some fresh air, and we have ended up finding some new places to explore! On occasion, we end up doing some interesting things...Like finding new places for pictures...

Pretty cool, huh? Ella is always my willing photography helper - love that girl. Not sure if it is an ideal location for kiddos (they might be to little), but it would be fun for couples and such.

Today we also ended up stopping by a random park. They played a little, but then we all crumbled under the heat & humidity. You know when kids get real hot and start to melt down?? That was me. There is nothing cool (and when I say cool, I'm talking about temperature - because obviously if I was talking style...then I am clearly cool. What? I'm in denial? Anyway...) about carrying a park blanket, pushing a stroller, and hauling my heavy baby backpack around in this heat.

I can do hot - but I don't do really hot. Unless we're at the pool, and even that is questionable sometimes.

So anyway, on the way home, the younger girls feel asleep in the car, and I decided to drive around a bit more and enjoy the peace & quite - and the air conditioning.

I came across this graffiti wall, and decided to get a few more pics. I love "downtown/city pictures", so graffiti walls are right up my alley.

Today we might hang around the house. I need to do a deep cleaning on the car before the school year hits. And believe me, the car has taken a beating this summer - we have ran a lot of errands - so who knows what I will find under those seats!

Happy Thursday, all!

Purple Applesauce

The girls are a little under the weather, it's 300 degrees outside, well 90, but it feels like 300, so we are stuck in the house. With the exception of the quick run I made to Target with them, just to provide some sanity. And entertainment:

I promise I won't post another conversation for a while...unless it's funny :)...

Lady: Whoa
Me: (in my mind) Oh here we go...
Lady:(yelling down the aisle) Fred, you gotta come see this.
Me: (smiling, and wondering why Fred needs to come over and check us out - only 5 kids here, it's not like I have 15 w/ me.) Hi there...sweet aren't they? (that had nothing to do w/ the situation at hand, but I don't always know what to say)
Lady: Is it a blessing or a curse?
Ella - my 5yr old: 2 sets of twins, 5 girls...we have our hands full. It's fun.
Lady: (stands there for a second w/ a blank stare seeing as she just got put in her place by a 5yr old) I know, honey...your mommy sure looks busy.
Me: Ok, well - have a nice day!

Is it a good or bad thing that Ella has started answering the questions??

--------------------

I don't really have a lot of time to chat w/ strangers when I have faces like this to get home and make some good old natural food for...

Ain't she cute?
And you know how I love to cook up some natural and organic food.
You know, when I'm not finishing off a bag of Twizzlers.

Today my lovelies and I spent time making some yummy treats:

Almond Butter
and Blueberry, Raspberry, and Blackberry Applesauce.

Also known around here as, "Purple Applesauce".

I wish I would have made the Almond (nut) Butter a little more creamy, but hey, the girls love it...they especially love dipping apples in it...yum.

And I'm not sure if they love the actual "applesauce" for the flavor, or because it is purple - the jury is still out on that.

But I'm fine with either reason.

So, that is what we have been up to. What have you been up to?!

You Play, I'll Eat.

You play...

I'll eat.

You play...

I'll eat.

They make a pretty cute team, don't you think?? :)

Happy Friday, all!!

Enlighten Me...

Lady: Wow, are all these little kids yours?? How old are you?!
Me: Ha, yes, all mine...and, old enough.
Lady: Geez, haven't you guys figured out what causes this?
Me: No actually...we are still researching that. Enlighten me, please.

Aaannyyway...

--------------------

I know you all are just dying to know what chocolate pretzels I was referring to the other day. Right? No? Well, I'm still going to tell you...

Here they are, in all their glory.

They are Chocolate. They are Pretzels. They are slim.

Oh, but let me warn you. There is nothing slim about eating the whole bag.
But that doesn't stop me.

Be prepared, angels might start singing...

Aren't they lovely? They are my everything.

Well...you know, in the food section of my life, that is.

--------------------

Also, I have a burning question that begs to be answered...

Do you Twitter?

I set up an account a while ago, but have never committed to it. But lately, I am thinking about giving it a go. It looks like fun :). Sooo...will you share? Do you Twitter??

I've Been Thinking

...about a lot...

...you know, when I get a chance to think ;)...

...about change...

...about our daily routine...

...about new shoes. what? sometimes new shoes require deep thought...

...thinking about moving - and dreaming of more room for the girls to play...

...but knowing that I will miss this little house terribly...

...thinking that maybe I'll get rid of my hair straightener and embrace the long, wavy hair God gave me...

...and possibly dying it back to its natural light brown color...

...feeling like maybe I would get into better shape if I would lay down the Trader Joe's Chocolate Covered Pretzel Slims...

...deciding to let myself be myself, and knowing that that is just what He wants...

...praying that I can teach my girls to love their image, because they were made in His image...

...thinking about how tired I am of this world's lies...

...feeling like I just might wear sandals well into the winter months...

...but also looking forward to changing leaves and my favorite fleece...

...trying to grasp the fact that this sweet little girl will be starting school in 3 weeks...

...wondering if I will be that mom taking a ton of pics on the 1st day of school - and coming to the realization that, of course I will be "that mom."

...wondering if we made the right choice on school...

...still wondering if I am ignoring a calling to home school...

...wondering if people really do see me singing in the car at the top of my lungs...

...wondering why I don't care if they do...

...thinking of how tempting it is to incorporate some dance moves in w/ that singing when you're in the moment...

...and then deciding quickly to not do that...ever...alright, sometimes...

...thinking of trading my keyring gym card in for a Starbucks keyring card...

...and feeling like that might be the best idea I've had in years...

And now speaking of which, I am off to pack up all my Savvies and go get me some of that sweet caffeine :).

Germs? What Germs?

I always keep my girls out of the dirt, and as far away from germs as I possibly can.

So I would never let one of my sweet little babies chew on the back of a park swing - that would be disgusting and unsanitary.

And I would never, under any circumstance, let a child of mine eat grass...totally unacceptable.

Alright, alright...sometimes, possibly, maybe, those things do happen in our neck of the woods. And it is also possible that instead of stopping them, I might grab my camera and take a picture.

So Sue Me.

We're building immunities over here, people!

After all, I can't chase them all down with a bottle of Lysol for the rest of their playground years.
Well, I could. But I'm pretty sure the other moms would stop speaking to me.

So we'll just lean back, relax, and let the sun's warmth hit our face...we'll worry about the germs later, I guess!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!
