Makin' Some Baby Food

Is it that time already?? At the babies 4 month checkup yesterday (seriously, their 4 month checkup...time goes so fast!), we chatted a bit about introducing some solids to the girls. Been there, done that. This time around however, I am planning on making our own baby food...I'm real excited about this. My question to you all is, Does anyone use a grinder/food processor that works really well for this kind of thing? I have searched a bit, but just wanted some other opinions. I would love some advice, and any other ideas or things that worked for you!

Hope everyone is having a great Friday!

I made Samantha's baby food and use a steamer to cook it and mini food processor to grind it. She absolutely loved it! I think that homemade tastes much better than the jarred baby food. Wish I would have done it with Rylie too!

Cortney and I just did this and used my Kitchen Aid mixer with the Vegetable Strainer attachment. If you have a Kitchen Aid it is the WAY TO GO! There are other helpful hints at the site if you have time!

Hey Kate! I just got the Cuisinart DLC-2A Mini Prep Plus yesterday! I am just starting solids and haven't even used it yet... BUT both websites listed below recommend this one as their first choice for making baby food.
These websites have tons of info and are really helpful... wholesomebabyfood.com and weelicious.com.

I was too cheap in the past to buy a food processor so I used my blender- mostly for fruits and veggies. I made big batches and froze extra in ice cube trays. It worked fine. I'm not sure how well it would do with meat though.

I made homemade baby food for my first little one but I must admit I got lazy after that and have purchased organic baby food for the rest.

I did use a food processor though and it worked great! Also used the blender.

Maybe for #5 I'll give it a go again?

I made my own baby food for Trigg! that was the first time I had done it and it was amazing how easy it was!
I just bought a cheapie food processor/blender from Walmart and it did the job. =) Have fun!!
